S&P cuts Spain long-term rating to AA+ from AAA
"Standard & Poor's Ratings Services on Monday lowered its long-term sovereign credit rating on Spain to AA+ from AAA, citing structural weakness in the Spanish economy. At the same time, S&P said the A-1+ short-term ratings on Spain were removed and the outlook is stable. S&P has now removed the ratings from CreditWatch negative, where they were placed on Jan. 12. S&P said the downgrade also applies to institutions linked to the sovereign, and "reflects our expectations that public finances will suffer in tandem with the expected decline in Spain's growth prospects, and that the policy response may be insufficient to effectively counter the related economic and fiscal challenges."

Cordialment
